Week 27: May 7th- Last day of the course

First day of May and last day of the course for us!

- We practised with speaking cards that helped revise the course.
- We practised more presentations.
- We did an end-of-year questionnaire and
- We sang I Wonder, by Sixto Rodríguez

We're doing the written test on Monday 14th, 16.30 in room 4.

Orals are taking place on May 9th & 16th, also in room 4.

Results will be out on May 22nd both online and on the classroom's board and you can have a look at your exam and transmit any enquiries you may have on May 28th at 19.00, room 4.

Thanks for all your year's work. I hope the course may have been of some use and wish you all the best for the future.

Week 26: April 23rd & 25th- World Book Day and more!

- We revised relatives with a board game.
- We listened to Shakespeare's Sonnet 116, read and rephrased it to celebrate the World Book Day.
- We revised reported speech with a game board with referee. This is the KEY to the exercise.
- We listened to the end of the story of Sixto Rodríguez.
- We revised modals to talk about possibilities in the past with a mystery game.

Week 25: April 16th& 18th- Practising prepositions with Keane

- We did an exercise with prepositions in Keane's lyrics of Somewhere only we know.
- We revised health vocabulary.
- We did a listening on technological advances.
- We saw how to use relatives.
- We practised relatives with a multiple choice activity.
- We revised tense use with an interview exercise.
- We got the corrected writing productions on the photo choice and general feedback of the most frequent problems.
- We practised a monologue on financial problems in class.

Homework:
- Reading on page 109.
- Sending the recorded monologue for written feedback.
- If you need speaking practice, remember Talk English, where you can listen and also record your production in a fictional conversation.

Week 24- April 9th & 11th- Practising conditionals

- We warmed up with first and second conditionals about ourselves.
- We read about Honest London and listened to what four different people would have done.
- We revised the third conditional type of sentences.
- We told a story using third conditional sentences.
- We revised the 3rd conditional with situation cards.
- We saw vocabulary on health on pages 104 and 105.
- We did a writing in class.
- We did an exercise on Keane's Somewhere Only We Know.

Homework:
- Reading pages 104 and 105.
- Review on page 101.

- We compared formal and informal structures in writings.
- We did a reading/grammar test. You can do it at home if you missed the class.
- We did a speaking find-the-difference activity.
- As a homage to the great scientist Stephen Hawking we saw a video of The Big Bang Theory in which Sheldon meets Stephen Hawking.
